I feel the need to discuss synchronicity a bit. I am still learning about it. But the way I understand it is synchronicity is a meaningful coincidence. I used to believe in coincidences as something that just happened and appeared to mean something but really didn't. For instance, a friend calling you up after you have been thinking about him or her was something I used to think of as a coincidence and nothing special. Now since I have been placing my intentions on my vision board as well as in my journal (which I will discuss later), I see the beauty in synchronicity.
I have experienced a lot of meaningful coincidences lately. One of my intentions is to manifest my ideal mate. This intention is on my vision board (of course). Now, I've noticed some very strange things. An example, an associate and I were at a store looking for a coat for my mom. A man came up to us and asked our opinion of a vest he was looking to buy for someone. The fact that the man approached us was no big deal. However, the fact that this man looked very similar to one of the men I have on my vision board is a big deal! It's freaking me out a little even as I write this. To me, this is a strong example of synchronicity and a strong example that my ideal mate is either someone that I have already met or someone I will meet very soon.
So what does synchronicity mean to you? Synchronicity is an indication from God, the Universe, Formless Substance, Energy, whatever you want to call it, of which one of your intentions you will manifest. It is also the intention you are the most aligned with and this is the Universe's way of letting you know that it is on it's way.

Manifestations
When I watched the Secret movie something clicked in me. I began to take notes on what I saw and to put some of it into action. One of the things mentioned in the movie is a vision board. Basically, a vision board is just a collage of your intentions, the things you intend to happen in your life. It can consist of pictures, quotes, words, whatever you choose.
I went to Walgreens, bought a poster board and began printing out pictures of things I intended for my life. One of the things was to visit New York. Now this might not be a big deal to some but to me it was. I have been trying to get there for over 10 years and for various reasons did not go. Once I decided that I wanted to visit NYC I needed to find a way to get there, i.e, the money. I wasn't sure how I was going to pull it all together. Now, this is the manifestation that I said I'd discuss in my earlier blog post.
So, I put a picture of NYC on my board along with the words new york city. I also put the words, "I will have $500 extra dollars by such and such date..." (don't remember the date now). Almost daily I would look at my vision board, and visualize myself sipping coffee in a cafe in NYC, going to an art museum or visiting Greenwich Village. On one particular morning, I got up, did my morning workout and began to do a cool down. I remembered that I needed to pay my rent and I also remembered that my building management had sent me some payment coupons to include along with my rent payment. So, I decided to look at my vision board for a few minutes, visualize my trip to NYC and then open the stuff from my building management. When I opened the envelope I almost collapsed! There was a check for $915 in the envelope along with the payment coupons for the rent. Since my old management had sold the building my new management company was refunding security deposits now instead of holding on to them! It might not seem like a lot to some but it floored me. I was going to NYC with more money than I had expected.
One thing I noticed about this manifestation is that while I put it on my vision board and visualized it regularly, I did not focus on it all the time. Actually, right before I manifested I had starting to forget about it and focus on my other intentions and goals. It was right when I had forgotten about NYC that I manifested NYC. I say this to say, that while we want to manifest our intentions, we must find a way to detach from them as well. And by detach, I do not mean you don't care about them. You care about your intentions and you still know that they will come to fruition but you don't cling to them. My understanding of detachment is you know that your intentions are ON THEIR WAY, and this faith allows you to go with the flow of life and not dwell on your intentions, grasping them out of fear that they will not occur.

Starter Tips
I truly enjoyed the Secret dvd. Anyone interested in learning the basics about the law of attraction can start with this documentary/movie. The Secret (Extended Edition)
Following watching the Secret movie, I did some research on long hair care forum (LHCF). Many of the ladies on the forum have been practicing the secret for many years and recommended several starter books. I chose Law of Attraction by Michael Losier. Law of Attraction: The Science of Attracting More of What You Want and Less of What You Don't
I really enjoyed this book because of the exercises. It began my journey of putting the secret into practice. The author also provides readers with free worksheets and additional information on his site to go along with the book.

what is the law of attraction
The law of attraction states that whatever you think about and feel about is what you receive. It states that you can have anything you want in life. It states that whatever is going on in your life is exactly what you created. Therefore, if you think about all the things you have to complain about, all the things you think are wrong in your life then guess what, you will continue to create or manifest those very things in your life. The law of attraction teaches that one should focus on what she/he wants in life, (not on what one does not want) the positive things, the things to be grateful for and these things (and more) will continue to be reflected in your life.
The law of attraction is not the lazy man's way of achieving success in life. Behind every positive feeling and thought there is something called inspired action. Which basically means that as a result of feeling good and truly believing that what one wants will occur ideas will begin to take form. You will begin to think of ways to achieve your wishes. By acting on these ideas and following through on them, you are participating in inspired action. All the things you want and believe will happen will begin to take form and become concrete things. I have a great example of this that I will post soon.
So the steps to the law of attraction and getting anything you want in life are:
1. Ask - what do you really want? find out and write it down in the present tense.
2. Believe - believe that it is already yours, i.e. have faith.
3. Receive - feel the way you would feel if you have what you are asking for. don't just think about it, feel it, inside.

I learned about the Law of Attraction in November 2007. It was on a Saturday night. I was staying up late surfing the net and just hanging out. I belong to an online hair forum called long hair care forum (LHCF). We talk about all kinds of things in addition to hair. Well, I kept seeing these threads that said LOA all the time. I was wondering what this was about but I was never in the mood to click on it and find out. Well, on this particular Saturday I felt like being nosy and clicked on the thread. The members kept talking about this movie called the Secret. It sounded so familiar to me. I kept thinking that I had this movie. Then, I remembered a friend of mine had given me a whole bag full of cds that he had copied. This happened several months ago during the spring/summer. I looked the bag and found the Secret dvd. I was amazed. It might not seem like much but it really surprised me that I had this very dvd that the girls on LHCF were talking about. So... I popped it in and was immediately intrigued by the Secret's message. Not only the message of positive but positive feelings.
